How can I live a healthier & fulfilling life?

We all strive for this. Some people every day, others maybe just as New Years resolution.

Habits are hard. So I suggest starting small and celebrating all of your small achievements.

The 5 principles I follow not only for my skin health, but for overall health and a positive mindset.

Write these down in a journal, have them near by, it is a constant and postive to reminder to bring awareness into your life.

  • Recognise the value of your life

  • Pause and think, even if for just for a moment

  • Free yourself from the stress of everyday life and bad habits

  • Make peace with yourself

  • Raise awareness about living well and increase motivation, not just today. Everyday.

When you pause even if only for a moment you can find your brain spiralling through your day, your conversations, future jobs, chores and goals. This is the best time to ask yourself some questions that really help to attune into the moment but also prepare for the future action.

What is my relationship to food?

What is my relationship to my body?

What is my relationship to my skin?

How could these relationships be healthier, more fulfilling, more loving?

When I am stressed and start seeking comforts andcomfort food, would I be willing to stop, breathe, and ask myself what is it that is actually hungry; to be seen, heard and valued, that needs to be fed with my own awareness and be emotionally nurtured? And if I do indulge, could I be open to making that an empowering choice, rather than one that feeds a cycle of guilt and shame?

Could I choose to listen? Listen deep within. Our body is a master biofeedback and energy systems and has a full range of signalling it is constantly sharing with us every single moment of every single day. Yes, that means right now.

Can I tune into my innate wisdom and intuition?

Listen,

What can I hear? What can I feel?

Could I choose fewer labels, packages, boxes and bags, and more real food in its most natural, unaltered, unadulterated, unprocessed and unrefined forms?

The more food that we eat that has come as freshly as possible from mother earth will support, nurture and nourish us the most.

“If you keep good food in your fridge, you will eat good food.” Erick McAdams

Could I tune in to my appreciation and gratitude for the miracle of the food I have in front of me, food that has been grown with the energy of our planet, the sun, moon, wind and rain, nourished from the soil and soil microbiomes, and then prepared for me to purchase and prepare for eating?

Could I be more grateful for this? What a blessing to be so energetically connected to life.

So abundant!

“Those who think they have no time for healthy eating will sooner or later have to find time for illness.”. – Edward Stanley

Did you know that our skin is our largest organ? Since when did colours, harsh chemicals, emulsifiers, harsh preservatives, harmful substances, irritants and allergens belong on the skin? How can a skin thrive with this? Our beautiful acid mantle has a very delicate microbiome and if disturbed causes a cascade of problems.. the biggest one ‘inflammation’.

“Whenever you see inflamed skin, regardless of the cause, the stratum corneum is leaky and permeable. But, if you repair the stratum corneum, that tells the underlying tissues that they don’t have to keep reacting like there’s danger in the environment” - Dr. Albert Kligman

What you choose to eat or put onto your skin is not the point.. at the end of the day YOU ARE THE CONSUMER, and you are in control of how you consume.

The simplest way for building a healthy, ‘aligned to you’ meal is to

  • Stop,

  • Breathe,

  • Tune in to your body,

  • Check in with what you are choosing and why,

  • Create your meal intentionally from that space.

Every meal, even the small ones.. make a decision.

Choose to listen to your own rhythms, your own energy.

Choose to bring awareness to your body, and the sensation of eating.

There is nothing more empowering than brining more vital energy to your body to support the growth and regeneration of all of our cells, tissues, organs and systems whilst also fuelling our mind and emotions.

I choose to embrace that power. In full.
