How it works:

While the concept of needling may sound intense, the treatment can actually be easily tolerated by most people – and can achieve remarkable results. The procedure involves the Exceed device gliding over the skin, using tiny needles to cause ‘micro-traumas’ to the skin, triggering growth factors for building new collagen. They will create controlled microchannels in the skin which instigate regeneration of skin cells via natural process of healing. Awakening the fibroblast that lies within the deeper layers of the skin, you will naturally produce new, healthy collagen.

Ideal for:

Rejuvenating and tightening skin, reducing hyperpigmentation and enlarged pores, treating stretch marks and scars and regaining a more youthful complexion. Micro-needling achieves similar results to fractional laser, without the side effects or downtime – and it can even be used in delicate or hard-to-reach areas around the eyes, eyelids, lips, neck, nose and earlobes.

Treatment:

Before the micro-needling treatment, your face is thoroughly cleansed and prepared. Following this, the needles only penetrate the top layer of the skin. The speed and depth of penetration can be adjusted based on your level of comfort, ensuring a great experience plus optimal results.

Immediately after your treatment there will be visible redness on the treatment area which can be easily covered post treatment. Most inflammation will have disappeared one day after the procedure.
Whilst patients should avoid direct sunlight in the first days after a micro-needling treatment, its possible to go back to work and life immediately.

Time Frame:

This is very client-specific, such that your skin type and condition will indicate your number and frequency of treatments as determined by your aesthetician. In general, most clients undergo 3-6 treatments at intervals of 4-8 weeks.

Following this, a maintenance plan will then be created to sustain your results.

Prep & Post

To achieve superior results in the lead up to an in clinic micro-needling treatment, the skin must be prepared using corneotheraputic skincare to ensure optimal skin barrier function.

The introduction of a custom serum containing ingredients to further support the skin and its condition, is advised to further prepare the skin along with MTS home rolling system to support skin rejuvenation of both the epidermis and the dermis.

To ensure the best outcomes post treatment, the following steps are recommended:

• Immediately following treatment, the application of epi nouvelle+ Naturelle Facial Mask and Oleogel Plus are advised.

• No Suncream the day of treatment - Suncream can be applied the next day and must always be worn to protect the skin.

• Commence regular skin care regime as per normal 5 to 7 days post treatment (skin dependent).

• A dermaviduals facial and LED are recommended 5-7 days post treatment.

Direct Contraindications After Treatment:

• No sun exposure

• No exercising for a minimum of 24-48 hours

• No saunas, hot showers/baths or swimming

• Limit alcohol consumption (vasodilation)

• Facial waxing, electrolysis, IPL or laser treatments must be avoided for 3 weeks following treatment

• Botox and other injectables must be avoided for 3 weeks following treatment

• Re-commence home rolling 7 days post clinical treatment
