Essential oils in the bathroom
Every part of your home should have Essential Oils but my favourite to use them is in the bathroom - especially when it comes to cleaning. You can choose a wide variety of oils but it is best to go with those stronger disinfecting ones but then blend it to calm the smell down. Here is my list..
Peppermint - mix it with Lemon, Grapefruit, Eucalyptus or Bergamot
Thyme - combines well with any citrus
Lemongrass - mixes well with Peppermint, Lemon and Basil
Tea Tree - Add to Bergamot, Peppermint or Lavender
Eucalyptus - Mix with Peppermint or Lavender
Lemon - Mixes with Bergamot, Peppermint or Lemongrass
So..
In a diffuser, these oils have the power to clean the air and give a fresh, clean smelling bathroom. You want to add a total of 8-10 drops into the diffuser. Choose from the above options.
Daily shower spray..
To keep your shower smelling fresh in between cleans (and to help ward against a build-up of mildew) whip up a bottle of this spray to keep on hand. After each shower, simply spritz around the wet stall and go!
Combine in a small to medium sized bottle:
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup distilled water
10 drops of lemon
5 drops peppermint
Shake well before using.
aromatherapy benefits:
choose 1 essential oil from the above list and drop 2-3 drops on the shower floor before you jump in and let the steam give you a purifying ‘wake up’ and clearing of the senses.
